• Transport to a Session - £10

For some families, it is difficult to be able to travel to our sessions due to lack of transport. It is so important for us to be able to reach as many young people as possible, therefore we always try to arrange travel so that everyone can attend. Everyone deserves to be able to access the much-needed support we can offer, and we would never want anyone to miss out due to transport. This Christmas you could give the gift of accessibility, to those who need it most.

• Wetsuit Socks - £15

 These are to support our Adaptive Surfing here at The Wave Project. Getting wetsuit boots on can be a task at the best of times. For those surfers with lack of mobility in their feet and ankles, this is even more difficult. However, using neoprene socks is a game changer, so much easier than boots, but keeps our surfers just as toasty. This Christmas, you could give the gift of support, to those who need it most.

• Volunteer Training - £50

Our volunteer mentors are so important to each and every individual we support. They give up their time to be there for each young person; offering guidance, reassurance and so much care. We couldn’t do what we do with these wonderful volunteers, not just those in the water, but also those that are helping us to fundraising or supporting us in our office/shop! There is still a cost involved to train our volunteers and carry through DBS checks to make everything as safe as possible. This Christmas you could give the gift of training a volunteer, to be there for those who need it most.

• Adapting a Wetsuit - £80

We all know how difficult it is putting on a wetsuit. For some of our surfers with limb impairments, or lack of flexibility, low spasticity,  putting on a wetsuit can be really difficult, uncomfortable and tiring. This then instantly reduces the overall benefit of the experience. Having zips put in the arms and the legs of a wetsuit can make access so much easier for our surfers, and their families who often have the task of making this happen. This Christmas, you could give the gift of inclusion, to those who need it most.

• Adaptive Helmet - £150

These are to support our Adaptive Surfing here at The Wave Project. These British made Gecko helmets are super lite and comfortable. We tried many different helmets, and these were by far the best. Safety is always our priority, and with surfing being such an adrenaline sport, helmets are a must for us when using our seated board. This Christmas, you could give the gift of safety, to those who need it most.
